I am a veteran of the music scene in New Jersey for over thirty years. I've seen, heard, as well as been associated with many great local area artists, bands, and talents. Keeping this in mind, I now have a chance, through Star-Fm Radio to showcase their talent. The good people at Star-Fm Radio are giving me the opportunity to host my own webcast radio program. The show will feature live in studio interviews by bands and solo artists. They will also have the option of playing cuts off of their CD(s), as well as live acoustic performances. My goal, is to open up a venue for established, or new acts to have their music heard. This program is all about THEM...and THEIR music! So turn on...tune in...and as always...ROCK ON!
After DJ'ing for others and/or with a business partner since 1976, at the suggestion of good friend Richard Hicks, I decided to strike out on my own. Most people do not know this, but at this time I had collected between 2,000-2,500 45 rpm records and a few hundred LP's. I had collected the 45's in hopes of one day putting them on a juke box. I wasn't DJ'ing all that much at that time, as I was concentrating on my law enforcement career. Richard said since I had the records, I may as well put them to good use. In the course of a couple of weeks, I played my first gig as the owner of my own business. A few weeks later, on Sunday, August 6, 1989 at 1:00 p.m., The Carolina Sounds Beach Show debuted on WLLN 1370AM in Lillington, NC. The first song I played on the air was The Catalina's "Summertime's Calling Me", my all-time favorite Beach Music song. A few weeks later, the show was moved to Saturday afternoons. Since then, it's been 20 years of playing and singing all over NC, SC & parts of Virginia. I have said several times that no performer or DJ is the star of the show. We are just messengers or facilitators. The "True Star" of the show is the Music and the Fans. Without either, we would have nothing to sing or play or nobody to sing or play for. So THANKS to all the Beach Music fans and friends who support their favorite band, DJ, radio/Internet station or club.

Many of these Artists were among your favorites and were a part of your record, cassette or 8-track music collection. With the wide diversity in the music industry today, you may have wondered what happened to the groups and singers you knew so well. On Classic Artists Today, or C.A.T. We’ll feature new material by these musicians who filled the Concert Halls, Arenas and Stadiums of yesteryear.
So get ready for a journey featuring Classic Artists Today! On our adventure, we’ll also take you back so you can relive the songs that made them the top artists in the world.
COOOL Cat, brought to you by the same Hip Cats that Bring you Classic Artists Today! Coool Cat is a 2 hour show that will feature "new" music by "classic" Soul/R&B/Blues/Smooth Jazz bands and performers. It will be a little more "hipper" than regular CAT and faster moving. Jody Thornton, who does The CAT's "One To Remember" segments, will be the host of our new program.
